Melvin J. Talbott

Melvin J. Talbott, affectionately known as Mel, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 2, 2026. Born on October 23, 1942, in Garber, Oklahoma, Mel lived a life marked by devotion, hard work, and a deep love for family.

Throughout his years, Mel embodied the virtues of a wonderful father, a loving husband to his late wife Carolyn, a caring grandfather, and a steadfast friend and sibling. His kind spirit and enduring strength touched all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mel dedicated much of his career to a long and accomplished tenure at Boeing, formerly McDonnell Douglas, before enjoying a well-earned retirement. He brought diligence and integrity to his profession, gaining the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

Melvin’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his devoted children: Jennifer (Jay) Garrett, Mary (Doug) Myers, Roy (Cheryl) Zeier, Timothy (Agnese Hornung) Zeier, and Shawn Zeier. His legacy continues in his beloved grandchildren: Lydia (Joshua) Klemme, Cassondra (Brian) Cookson, Olivia (Collin) Tesreau, Jacob Zeier, Jesse (Ruth) Zeier, Sheldon (Michaela) Keence, Sophia Zeier, Alivia Zeier, Leah Garrett, Harrison Zeier, and Oliver Zeier. Mel’s love will live on in his great-grandchildren: Ellie, Chris, Dawson, Arlo, Jack, Nora, and Kennedy. He is also remembered fondly by his brothers, Virgil (Christi) Talbott and Norman (Cheryl) Talbott.

Mel was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Carolyn Talbott, and his parents, Leonard and Carrie Talbott. The warmth and wisdom he shared throughout his life will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew him.

Though Melvin J. Talbott is no longer with us, the wonderful memories he created are a comfort and inspiration to those he leaves behind. His enduring legacy is the loving family he nurtured and the countless lives he touched, a testament to a life lived with integrity, kindness, and unwavering devotion.
