Michael J. Beck passed away on October 24, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on June 20, 1950, Michael lived life in a way that was distinctly his own, marked by independence, determination, and a steadfast spirit.

Michael served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Air Force. His service was an important part of his life and reflected a commitment that will be remembered with gratitude and respect. Outside of his military service, he found enjoyment in time spent on the computer and in fishing during his spare time.

Those who knew Michael understood him as a man of strong character. He could be ornery and reclusive, and he was certainly stubborn, but he lived life on his own terms. That independence was simply part of who he was, and it shaped the way he moved through the world. He shared a long and happy marriage with his wife, Vernia, beginning in 1978, a lasting bond that remained central in his life.

Michael is survived by his wife, Vernia Beck; his daughter, Christina Lyell; his son, Brad Beck; and his two grandchildren, Joshua Lyell and Cody Beck. He is also survived by his six siblings: Pam Grady and her husband, Bob; Mary Fischer and her husband, Gary; Carol Montgomery and her husband, Phil; Liz Friederich and her husband, Jim; Cindy Beck; and Lisa Skroblin and her husband, Michael. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind many other relatives and friends who will remember him in their own special ways.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Beck, and his mother, Billie Beck.

Michael J. Beck will be remembered for his service, his individuality, and the enduring place he held in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
