Fortified into internal peace with our Lord on January 12, 2026.
Born August 9, 1974, in St. Charles, Mo Michael Dominic Bono at 51 years young, peacefully passed from this world after a courageous, and hard-fought battle with cancer. Though his body grew tired, his spirit never did. Michael faced every challenge with strength, resilience, and quiet determination, inspiring all who walked beside him on this journey. Michael leaves behind a legacy of love, bravery and perseverance that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Though he is no longer with us in body, his presence will forever be felt in memories, laughter, and the love he shared.
Mike was Owner of Bono’s Power Washing and Deck Staining, a business that he built from nothing and was very proud of. He inherited his Irish stubbornness and fortitude from his Grandpa Shea, which was evident in how tirelessly he worked at his business. He loved all sports, especially football & baseball. He had extreme knowledge of both! His favorite times were with the Chiefs games and the St. Louis Cardinals games. He loved the outdoors from an early age and that love continued throughout his life. He wasn’t much of a hunter but loved going along with his son to the deer camp at his bro cuz’s farm. He enjoyed fishing and boating as well. Mike was also a fitness enthusiast and continued to stay active at his gym throughout his battle.
Mike is survived by his Son and His Pride and Joy, Dominic Michael Bono of O’Fallon. His parents, Genevieve (Genny) Hallemeier and Tom Hallemeier of O’Fallon, his sister and brother in law, Antonia (Toni) and David Werner of Houston, TX. His nephews, Henry, Theo and Liam Werner of Texas. His special companion dog Jax. His brother cousins Joshua King & Kenny Mylenbusch. A multitude of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, along with Many especially close cousins and many friends. He is preceded in death by his Grandparents Robert & Florence Shea, Fred & Ruth Hallemeier and James & Lucille Salyers. His fiancé and mother to Dominic, Brandy LaRose Clark. His birth father Wayne Bono. His special cousin Sydney Mylenbusch. Rest in peace Mike, your fight is over and your soul is finally at rest - fly high buddy.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Dominic Bono education fund.
