Michelle "Mickey" Behlmann LaVelle, born on June 15, 1953, departed this life on February 27, 2026. She was a cherished member of her family and a beloved friend to many. Mickey's warmth and vibrant spirit were evident to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her; she had a remarkable ability to light up any room she entered.
Mickey is survived by her devoted husband, Michael LaVelle, as well as her two sons, Christopher Teater and Nicholas Teater, who, along with his wife Sarah, continue to carry on her legacy. Her four grandchildren, Jacob Teater, Maci Teater, Kennedy Teater, and Ava Teater, were a source of immense joy in Mickey's life, and she embraced her role as a loving grandmother. Additionally, she is survived by her two brothers, Jeff Behlmann (Marylee) and Tim Behlmann (Marianne), and her sister, Shari Carder (Merv), as well as a host of other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Throughout her life, Mickey cultivated a myriad of interests that brought her great happiness. She loved spending time at the beach, relishing the sun and the sound of the waves. Her passion for gardening was reflected in the care she took tending to her flowers, and she had a special fondness for her puppies—Otis, Jax, and Jessie. A lifelong soccer fan, Mickey embraced the camaraderie and excitement of the sport, sharing her enthusiasm with loved ones.
Mickey's compassionate nature extended beyond her family; she never met a stranger and often seemed to attract friends wherever she went. She had a unique ability to connect with people, becoming the favorite aunt, confidante, and friend to many. Her love for the simple pleasures in life, such as caring for hummingbirds, mirrored her nurturing spirit.
A service to honor Mickey will be held on March 22, 2026, at Echo Creek in Wentzville, MO, starting at 1:00 PM and concluding at 4:00 PM.
As we remember Michelle "Mickey" Behlmann LaVelle, we celebrate the joy and love she shared with all who knew her, a legacy that will undoubtedly continue through her family and the countless lives she touched.
