Neal Krem, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, in Ellisville, Missouri. Born on May 5, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, Neal’s life was marked by warmth, kindness, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that brought him comfort and happiness.
Neal grew up with a strong foundation provided by his parents, David and Bebe Krem, whose love and guidance helped shape the man he would become. He attended Ladue High School before furthering his education at Southeast Missouri State University (Semo), an era that helped nurture his curiosity and zest for life.
Those who knew Neal fondly remember a man with many passions. He enjoyed playing darts, where his sharp aim was matched only by the love for his wife. His love for movies and television offered him countless moments of reflection and laughter, and he had an avid collection of memorabilia that spoke to his deep appreciation for history and storytelling. Above all, Neal cherished the quiet moments spent with his beloved cat, Izzy, whose companionship brought him solace and joy.
Neal's family was the center of his world. He shared his life and love with his wife, Charleen Krem, who stood faithfully by his side. Together, they built a family filled with love and resilience. He was a proud father to Aaron Krem, Kari (Daniel) Phelps, and Charles Martin, providing guidance and support through every stage of their lives. He carried the sorrow of losing his daughter, Sara Andrews, in his heart, a loss that weighed heavily but never diminished his love for his family. Neal’s legacy lives on vibrantly in his five grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.
Surviving Neal are those who loved him deeply: his devoted wife Charleen, his children Aaron, Kari, and Charles, and his cherished grandchildren. They carry forward Neal’s spirit, his gentle humor, and the warmth that made every moment with him treasured. He is also remembered with affection and sadness by his brother Barry (Chris) Krem.
A visitation to celebrate Neal’s life will be held on April 23, 2026, from 9:30 AM until 1:30 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, West County, located at 2211 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, Missouri. This will be a time for all who knew Neal to come together, share memories, and honor a life well lived.
Neal Krem’s journey on this earth may have ended, but the love he gave and the moments he touched will echo in the hearts of family and friends forever. His story reminds us that joy can be found in the small things, in quiet companionship, and in the bonds we hold dear. Though he is gone, Neal’s spirit endures—a testament to a life defined by love, kindness, and unwavering devotion.
