Patricia J. Cox, born on November 17, 1933, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was marked by warmth, creativity, and a spirit of adventure.

Patricia loved knitting and playing cards with her friends. She also enjoyed traveling, embracing new experiences and the beauty of different places.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mickey R. Cox; father, John Preston Smith; her mother, Sarah Neva Smith; her sister, Wilma Hornung; and her brother, David Smith. Their memories remain treasured in the hearts of all who knew her.

Patricia is survived by her loving daughters, Sherry Gene Marti (Benard Jr.), Teresa Jane Westmoreland (Kenneth), and Janice Annette Cox, who continue her legacy through their own lives and families. She was a proud grandmother to Melissa Sponheimer (Kevin), Bradly Marti, Jeremy Floden (Lisa Paul), and Brenton Marti (Lacey), and a devoted great-grandmother to Kyla Paul, McArtney Young, Kaelyn Marti, Everett Marti, Glen Floden, and Charlotte Marti. Her sister, Donita Skinner (Martin), remains a close and cherished family member. Patricia’s extended family and numerous friends also survive her, each holding warm memories of her kindness and generosity.

The family thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers through this difficult time. There will be a private burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Saint Louis at a later date.

Patricia J. Cox lived a full and meaningful life, touching many with her steadfast love. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her, and her legacy will endure through her family and the many lives she influenced so positively.
