Patricia Ann Donovan, fondly known as Pat, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Lake St. Louis, Missouri. Born on December 11, 1937, in St. Louis, Missouri, she lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Pat was a woman of remarkable character. She embodied a loving, faithful, and generous spirit that endeared her to everyone she met. Known as the nicest person in the world, she always had a kind word for others and extended a warm welcome to all who entered her life. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she dedicated herself to nurturing countless moments together.
Her marriage of 70 years to Donald Donovan stands as a testament to her unwavering commitment and love. Together, they created a warm and supportive home that was always open to family and friends. Their beloved lakehouse was a sanctuary of joyful weekends, which will forever be etched in the hearts of their children: Michael (Jennifer) Donovan, Lori (Edward) Larkin, and Julie (Brett) Rigdon. Pat's love was most vividly expressed in the time she spent with her grandchildren—Kristi (Michael) Davis, Erin Donovan, Eric (Mary) Larkin, Megan Donovan, and Ellie Rigdon—as they played games, shared laughter, and created lasting memories.
In addition to her beloved grandchildren, Pat delighted in the presence of her great-grandchildren—Cade Davis, Brayden Larkin, Brooklyn Davis, Harper Helbling, and Nash Larkin—hours filled with love and laughter. Each of them will carry forward her legacy of joy and warmth into their future.
Pat was also an avid quilter and reader who poured her creativity into making beautiful pieces that surely brought comfort to those who received them. Her passion for acting in plays during her younger years showcased another facet of her vibrant personality, revealing her love for storytelling and connection with others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Zoe Scherer, her beloved son, Timothy Donovan, and her five siblings, but leaves behind a rich tapestry of love woven by the many lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey.
As we celebrate Pat's life, we remember her as a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a proud grandmother, and a wonderful sister. Her generosity, warmth, and loving nature will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Visitation will be held on August 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, followed by a Mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dardenne Prairie on August 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
Pat's incredible spirit and the legacy of love she leaves behind will continue to inspire and guide her family for years to come. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, if you prefer, the family kindly asks that you consider a donation to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Pat's honor.
