Patricia Luzzi (nee Hickman)

Patricia Luzzi (nee Hickman) was born on March 4, 1951, in Paterson, New Jersey. She spent her formative years cultivating a vibrant spirit and a love for life that would carry her through many adventures. She dedicated her career to Berlex Pharmaceuticals, where she worked for an impressive 20 years, embodying professionalism and commitment in all that she did.

In a remarkable display of tenacity and ambition, Patricia returned to college in her 40s, ultimately graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Psychology in 2005. This achievement marked a significant milestone in her life, showcasing her belief in lifelong learning and the pursuit of knowledge.

Patricia was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she cherished the time spent with her family. She was particularly fond of celebrating holidays, embracing each occasion with joy and enthusiasm. Her love for festivities often extended to a full week dedicated to her birthday, reflecting her vibrant personality and love for creating memorable experiences.

Known for her spunky spirit, Patricia's humor and love for life endeared her to all who crossed her path. She was a loving individual with a deep emotional connection to her faith, being a devout Catholic and drawing strength from her spirituality. She devoted herself to being a proud friend of Bill W. for 34 years, demonstrating her commitment to compassion and support for others.

Patricia was a green thumb, relishing the time spent nurturing her plants, and she found joy in shopping and experiencing life to the fullest. Her laughter and warmth will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

Surrounded by her loved ones, Patricia passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in Chesterfield, Missouri. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Greg) Umstead; her cherished grandchildren, Brianna, Jake, and Gregory Umstead; and her beloved sisters, Susan (Thomas) Boyhan, Catherine Guatrone, and Lynn DeLorenzo.

Patricia is reunited in eternal peace with her father, Francis Hickman; her husband, Louis Luzzi; her son, Daniel Vander Brink; and her brother, Robert Hickman. As we honor her memory, we celebrate the love, joy, and laughter she brought into our lives and hold her spirit close to our hearts.

Patricia's family will honor her memory with a Celebration of Life to be held in New Jersey at a future date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
