Paul Edward Kaltenbach, born on October 31, 1957, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025. Paul lived a life marked by dedication and love, making lasting contributions both personally and professionally throughout his years.

A respected figure in the professional realm, Paul dedicated many years of his career to Boeing, establishing himself as a knowledgeable and capable employee. Upon reaching the pinnacle of his career, he partnered with his brother in the car sales industry, where they worked together until Paul’s retirement. His strong-minded nature and commitment to his work inspired those around him.

Paul was a loving husband to Jewell Kaltenbach and a devoted father to his children: Dane and Ashley Kaltenbach, and Tom and Kellie Smotherman. He took immense pride in his family, particularly cherishing his nine grandchildren — Tayler Kestner, Mason Kestner, Jordan Kestner, Dillon Gant, Logan Smotherman, Lillie Smotherman, Brycen Green, Jaxson Kaltenbach, and Easton Kaltenbach — along with his great-grandchild Calvin Schlittler. Paul is also survived by his sister, Diane, and her husband, Karl Schoenefeld; two brothers, Gary and Guy Kaltenbach; six nieces, Nancy, Stacey with Roy, Jamie with Joe, Tiffany, Kelsie, Jenna; three nephews, Tracy with Tina, Joseph, and Karl Jr.; and a host of other family members and friends.

In reflecting on his personality, Paul was known to be a strong-minded individual who kept to himself but possessed an unwavering willingness to help those in need. His grandchildren particularly benefitted from his generous spirit and committed guidance. He found joy in golf, relishing the outdoors and participating in activities such as boating and spending time on the river during his earlier years.

Paul was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Joan Kaltenbach; father, Jim Kaltenbach; daughter, Christina Marie Kestner; and son, Brett Mathews. His legacy will continue through his family and the countless lives he touched.
