Richard L. Brockman, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church and baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, departed this life on August 8, 2025.
Rich was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on January 31, 1953, to Wilfred and Marilynn (nee Muir) Brockman. Survivors include his wife, Sally (nee Hannon); sons, Matthew and Steven (Jaki) Brockman, and Nicholas (Amanda Hopp) and Christopher (Kelly) Brock; his grandchildren, Connor and Levi Brockman, Hazel and Penny Brock; his brother, Don (Leanne) Brockman; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Merrill Brockman.
He graduated from Central Methodist College, where he was a member of the Pi Gamma Mu honor society. He then attended the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service to begin his career as an embalmer and funeral director. He received a Master of Divinity degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. His proudest moments include the birth of his children, his marriage to Sally, and his reception into the Roman Catholic Church in 1993. Rich was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as President of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Peter Conference. He was also a Lector and Eucharistic Minister to the homebound. Rich was devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary, serving as a member of the Legion of Mary.
Visitation will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton on Friday, August 22, at 9:30 am. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton on Friday, August 22. Internment at St. Peter Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Conference, 2 Seton Drive, St. Charles, MO 63303.
