Richard Joseph Shea

Richard Shea, born March 19, 1945, in Peoria, Illinois, to the late Francis and Walter Shea, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was raised in Metamora, Illinois, and attended Western Illinois University.

Richard was the proud owner of SBP Image Solutions, which he successfully operated for 50 years. Outside of work, he found great joy in coaching each of his sons in their various sports as they were growing up.

He loved traveling with his late wife, Susan, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, and watching his grandchildren play softball, baseball, soccer, basketball, and hockey. Richard was known for his quick wit, love of storytelling, and calm kindness. He had a presence that filled any room and was always the life of the party.

Above all else, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, taking pride in his work, and enjoying the company of close friends.

Richard is survived by his children: Aaron Shea and his wife Kathy; Ryan Shea and his wife Cecilia; and Adam Shea and his wife Kim. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Chelsea, Nick, Ricky, Emerson, Kennedy, Walker, and Kinley. He leaves behind his siblings, Terry Shea and his wife Peg, and his sister Mary Sparks.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan Shea; his parents, Walter and Francis Shea; his brother, James Shea; and his brother-in-law, Quenton Sparks.

Services

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, December 28, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 2211 Clarkson Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017.

A Mass and Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 29, at 10:00 a.m. at Ascension Church, located at 230 Santa Maria Drive, Chesterfield, MO 63005.

Burial will follow at Bellerive Cemetery located at 740 North Mason Road, St. Louis, MO 63141.
