Richard Sutphin

Richard Sutphin, age 80, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024 in Maryland Heights, Missouri. He was born in Van, West Virginia on May 22, 1944 to Sydney and Beulah Sutphin (nee Eggleton). 

Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and sibling. He worked for the City of Jennings for over 30 years in various positions until his retirement. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Richard was the beloved husband of 60 years to Pearl Sutphin; loving father of Vernon Sutphin; father-in-law of Gerald Herman; grandfather of Amy (Timothy) Hawken, Tessa Hayes, Samantha Culver, and Mercy Culver; great-grandfather of 10 and great-great grandfather of 2; brother of Patsy (Charles) Hinkle, Paul (Mary Lou) Sutphin, Benjamin (Debbie) Sutphin; uncle & friend to many. 

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ernestine Herman; daughter-in-law, Cathy Sutphin; brothers, Eugene (Cecelia) Sutphin, Rondle (Eudean) Sutphin, Carl Sutphin, and James (Linda) Sutphin; and sisters, Eleanor Daley, and Lois (Ron) Martin.

 Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm, all on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376.
