Richard David " Rick" Wallis a young 51, passed away on August 6, 2025 in St Louis, Missouri. Born On October 11, 1973, in Saint Louis Missouri. Rick lived a life of full of energy, laughter and unwavering resilience.
Rick was known for his boundless enthusiasm for the outdoors and sports. Whether he was jumping wakes on his jet ski, casting a line while fishing, setting up camp under the stars, or hitting the greens for a round of golf. Rick embraced every moment with the joy. He was also an avivid hockey player and a passionate fan of Denver Broncos, Saint Louis Cardinals and Saint Louis Blues. His love for adventure was matched only by his deep affection for his German shepherds, especially his beloved Rhaenyra, Kane and Tarah who brought him endless happiness.
Rick's sense of humor was legendary. With a sharp wit and signature sarcasm, he could light it up any room and bring smiles to those around him. Even during his courageous 12 year battle with cancer. Rick never lost that spark. His amazing strength and humor remained constant sources of inspiration to all who knew him.
One of the most beautiful chapters in Rick's life began when he reunited with and married his high school, sweetheart, Dawn on October 4th 2014. Their love story was one of enduring connection and shared joy. Together they built a life filled with love and laughter.
Rick is lovingly remembered by his wife Dawn; daughter Rachel (Brantley) DiMercurio; son Brendan Wallis; sister Cathy (Kevin) Smith; brother Robert (Beth) Wallis; father and mother In law Paul and Deborah Kroupa; sisters-in-law Theresa (Joseph) Henke; Susan (David) Freeman; brothers-in-law Paul (Kim) Kroupa; Timothy (Elizabeth) Kroupa and Andrew (Rebecca) Kroupa; as well as many nieces , nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family members, friends and of course Rhaenyra.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Robert and Shirley (Bramlage) Wallis; sisters Valerie Fain and Shannon Wallis.
Rick's legacy is one of courage, kindness laughter and love-- a life lived fully despite adversity. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire in the face of life's challenges.
A Visitation will be on Thursday August 14, 2025, from 04:00 PM to 08:00 PM at Newcomer 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive. Private family viewing 3-4 PM. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday August 15, 2025 at Newcomer. Burial immediately following at Laurell Hill Cemetery 2000 Pennsylvania Ave. St Louis MO 63313.
