With deep sadness and love, we announce the passing of Ricky W. Guinn, who departed this life on June 24, 2025, at the age of 66. Ricky was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
Born on March 8, 1959, Ricky lived a life marked by resilience, curiosity, and quiet strength. Right out of high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army for nearly three years. He was honorably discharged following his tour of duty, carrying with him a deep sense of discipline and dedication that shaped the rest of his life.
An entrepreneur and dreamer at heart, Ricky pursued his passions with determination and ingenuity. He later built a respected career and retired as a technician with SoTel, where his reliability and hands-on knowledge left a lasting impression.
Ricky had a lifelong love of tinkering—he could fix just about anything and found joy in gadgets, drones, and anything that let him use his hands and mind. One of his favorite pastimes was panning for gold, a hobby that reflected both his sense of adventure and his patient, persistent spirit.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jason L. Guinn; his mother, Rose Forshee (née Dement); his stepfather, Robert Forshee; his father, Robert Guinn; his mother-in-law, Melvine Robinson; his father-in-law, Joseph Huber; his brother-in-law, Lee Robinson; his nephew, Christopher Eggleston; and his sisters-in-law Angie Forshee and Connie Forshee.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jean Guinn (née Robinson); his sons, Ryan Guinn (Angie Guinn, née Snyder) and David Guinn (Jessica Peipers); and his cherished grandchildren: Gavin, Reese, Grayson, Rose Guinn, Cheyenne, Savannah, and Kaylee Peipers.
Ricky is also survived by his loving siblings and in-laws: Tina and Mike Solomon, Dennis and Debbie Guinn, Steve and Wendy Forshee, Rosanne and Jame Frye, Dale and Dawn Forshee, Shane Forshee, Barbara Robinson, Mike and Wendy Eggleston, and Jack and Lisa Robinson.
Ricky W. Guinn lived a life of service, hard work, and love. He will be remembered for his quiet humor, his generous heart, and the legacy of strength, kindness, and compassion he leaves behind in the hearts of all who knew him.
A special thank you to his beloved wife, Jean, for taking the best care of him and showing him what true love really means
