Robert Eugene Axley, affectionately known as Bob, left this world on Friday, June 27, 2025, a day that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Bob passed away peacefully with Janay by his side, a poignant reminder of the love they shared - a love that was truly serendipitous. Born on February 22, 1968, in St. Louis, Missouri, Bob was a loving fiancé, son, father, and brother, whose spirit touched all who crossed his path.
Bob dedicated over 30 years of his life to CMS Communications, demonstrating time and again his unwavering work ethic. Starting from humble beginnings, he ascended through the ranks, a testament to his perseverance and determination. Colleagues admired Bob not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his kind nature and charismatic personality.
Beyond his professional life, Bob was a beautiful soul. He shared a life filled with love while cherishing the many adventures he embarked on with his beloved fiancée, Janay Huggins. Together, they traveled to cherished destinations, with Door County, Wisconsin, holding a special place in their hearts. Bob adored animals, finding joy in the companionship of the dogs he shared with Janay, Biff and Bentley, as well as their cat, Gracie.
Family held great significance for Bob, especially his children, Brandon T. (Britta Brecht) Axley and Drew A. Axley. His close relationships with his cousins, Connie and Bernie, brought him immense joy as they reconnected over the years. Bob also expressed sincere gratitude for how warmly he was welcomed into the Huggins family, truly making him feel like one of their own.
Bob's heart was especially devoted to advocating for Parkinson's Disease research, a cause that resonated deeply with him. His role as an advocate stands as one of his proudest accomplishments, reflecting his caring nature and desire to help others.
He is survived by his loving fiancée, Janay Huggins, mother, Carol Axley; his sons, Brandon T. (Britta Brecht) Axley and Drew A. Axley; his brothers, Daniel Axley and Brian (Tracie) Axley; his future mother-in-law, Karen Huggins; and a host of in-laws to be. The impact of his love and kindness will continue to inspire and guide them in the days to come.
Preceding him in death were his father, Daniel Rollan Axley, Sr., and his uncle, Gene Axley, who now greet him in the embrace of eternity.
