Robert Paul Jones II, affectionately known as Rob, was born on May 7, 1970, in St. Louis, Missouri, and departed this life peacefully at his home in O'Fallon, Missouri, surrounded by his beloved family on October 17, 2025. His passing leaves a void felt deeply by all who knew him.
Rob dedicated nearly 30 years of his life to Ironworkers Local 396, where he completed his apprenticeship and earned many certifications including his Journeyman and Iron Worker credentials. He was not only a skilled craftsman but also a generous and hardworking individual who embodied strength and resilience in all aspects of his life.
His loving spirit and infectious sense of humor brought joy to those around him. Rob had an incredible ability to light up any room with his laughter and warmth. He was a tender-hearted man, always going out of his way to lend a helping hand to those in need, which made him a cherished friend and mentor to many. His deep compassion for his family was evident; he was a devoted husband to his wife of 33 years, Founta Jones, whom he married on June 20, 1992. Their love story was a beautiful testament to partnership and understanding, one filled with shared laughter and meaningful moments.
Rob found immense joy in his role as a father to his daughters, Samantha (Josh) Schneider, Danielle Jones, and Katherine (Jarrod) Ouzts. They were his pride, and his love for them was boundless. His grandsons, Theodore Schneider and Michael Ouzts, along with granddaughter Claire Schneider, were the lights of his life, bringing him unexplainable joy and delight that only a grandparent can truly feel.
He will be lovingly remembered by his adored mother, Judy (Joe) Grygiel, and his sisters, Lauren Jones, Alison Jones, and Deborah Skrovanek, who will forever treasure their memories with him. He leaves behind an extended family, including his Uncle Samuel (Angela) Jones, his Aunt Lauren VanGilder, and his Uncle John Turner, and step-siblings Char (Tim) Helmick, Joe (Christy) Grygiel, Aaron Grygiel, and Andy Grygiel, as well as many other family members and friends who were touched by his kindness and spirit.
Rob had a zest for life that was reflected in his hobbies. He loved working on his cars, camping, hosting gatherings, and reveling in music—both loud tunes that invited celebration and soothing melodies enjoyed from the comfort of his deck alongside his beloved wife, Founta.
Rob joins his father, Robert Jones; brother, Jason Jones; grandparents Margaret and Harold Turner, Glenn and Thelma Jones; Aunt Katherine Cressy; and Uncles Max (Hilda) Jones and Dennis (Judy) Jones, in eternal rest, his legacy continuing through the lives he enriched with love and laughter.
As we gather to honor his memory, let us hold dear the lessons he taught us through his generosity, humor, and unwavering support. Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters on October 23, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM, followed by a Funeral Service on October 24 at 10 AM. He will be laid to rest with a Graveside Service later that same day at Whispering Winds Cemetery in Winfield.
Rob’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved, and he will be dearly missed. The family finds peace knowing he is in Heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom he accepted in his heart as a young boy.
