Ronald E. Dawson, born February 26, 1936, passed away on September 15, 2026.
Ronald will be remembered as a man of deep faith, steady character, and many talents and interests. He served his church as a long time elder and evangelist of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. He served in the Army as a Rifleman and Sharpshooter, a role that reflected both his discipline and skill. He had a lifelong interest in guns and knives and especially enjoyed adding parts and making ammunition. He was also an avid Bridge player, and in his younger years he was known to enjoy doing backflips off the diving board. Ronald loved fishing, was a skilled craftsman, and was often the person others could count on when help was needed.
Family was an important part of Ronald’s life. He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Miller and Theresa Hopson and her husband, David; his sons, Mark Dawson and his wife, Connie, and Bryan Dawson and his wife, Angela; his sister, Joyce Chappell; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, with another great-grandchild on the way. He leaves behind a family who will continue to carry forward his memory with love and gratitude.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Ardell Dawson; his great-grandson, Oliver Hopson; his son-in-law, Bobby Miller; his sister, Sharon Wilkie; and his brother-in-law, John Chappell.
Ronald’s life was marked by faith, service, craftsmanship, and generosity toward others. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him, and remembered for the strength, skill, and kindness he brought to the lives around him.
