Ronald Louis Weiss, Sr., a man whose life was marked by unwavering faith, boundless love, and dedicated service, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri. Born on March 15, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri, Ron’s journey was one deeply intertwined with his community, family, and an enduring commitment to making the world a better place.

Ron’s early years were shaped at Corpus Christi grade school and high school, where he embraced both sports and parish activities with enthusiasm and heart. These formative experiences laid the foundation for a life lived with joy, purpose, and connection. His charisma and warmth were immediately apparent—Ron never met a stranger. His infectious smile and genuine kindness made him a man truly one-of-a-kind.

His sense of duty extended beyond the local community. Ron served his country with honor in the Army National Guard, embodying a spirit of patriotism and courage that was a testament to his character. The last 30 years of Ron's career were devoted to serving the Franciscan Sisters of Mary, a role that reflected his deep-seated faith and desire to uplift those around him.

Above all, Ron was a family man. He built a life filled with love and laughter alongside his beloved wife of 57 years, Carol. Together, they nurtured a family that was Ron’s greatest pride. He was the cherished father of Ronald Louis (Thaedra) Weiss, Jr. and Kimberly Renee (Bruce) Golden, whose lives were profoundly shaped by his unwavering support and encouragement.

An ever-present figure on the sidelines, Ron was an ardent sports enthusiast, finding joy and fulfillment in cheering on his children and grandchildren. He delighted in their victories and commiserated with them in their struggles, always offering words of wisdom and endless encouragement. His grandchildren—Jacob, Dylan, Karina Weiss, Joshua, Matthew, and Nicholas Golden—knew him as a loving presence, a guide, and a source of unending happiness.

Ron’s legacy is also reflected in the loving relationships he maintained with his extended family, including many nieces and nephews who were touched by his kindness and generosity. While he is mourned deeply by those who knew him, including countless close friends, his memory lives on in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Maxmillian Weiss and Christine Barbara Weiss, his granddaughter Abby Margaret Golden, his brother Charles Weiss, and sisters Rosalie (Robert) Molitor and Maura (William) Randall. Their memories, intertwined with his, form a tapestry of family history that Ron cherished profoundly.

Ron’s faith was a guiding light throughout his life. Even as he faced life’s challenges, he maintained a smile and a hopeful spirit that inspired all around him. He embodied a love for life, a devotion to family, and a commitment to serving others that will be remembered as the cornerstone of his remarkable life.

In celebrating Ron ("Papa"/ "Bear"), we remember a man who gave generously of himself, who believed in kindness and community, and whose legacy will forever inspire those who had the privilege to know him. His life was a blessing, and his memory a treasure that will endure through the stories, laughter, and love shared by his family and friends.
