Listen to Obituary

Rosemary Catherine McBride, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away on October 1, 2026, at the age of 102. She was born on September 27, 1924, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Rosemary lived a long life marked by warmth, candor, and deep affection for the people and animals around her. She often said what a good life she had, and those who knew her understood how sincerely she meant it. In her younger years, she loved to dance, and that joyful spirit stayed with her throughout her life. She also had an especially tender heart for animals. Over the years, she was guardian to more than 30 dogs, as well as cats, turtles, and a rabbit. She loved her animals dearly and would never turn away a stray.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sherry R. Douglas and Tina M. McBride and her husband, John J. Kenny Jr., of O’Fallon, Missouri. She also leaves her granddaughter, Tina S. Kenny. Rosemary’s family continued through the generations with her great-grandson, Roy E. Kenny Jr. and his wife, Stephanie Kenny; her great-granddaughter, Kelly M. Baumgarte, whose late husband was Ryan Baumgarte; her two great-great-granddaughters, Josephine Baumgarte and Charlotte Kenny; and her great-great-grandson, Jackson Kenny. She is also remembered with love as an aunt, godmother, cousin, and friend, and by the Dacus children and the Sutton children.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Earl McBride, Jr.; her father, John F. Dachroeden; her mother, Rose M. Hofer; and her grandson, Roy Earl Kenny Sr., survived by his wife Marlene Kenny. Her memory is also joined with that of the late Ryan Baumgarte.

Rosemary will be remembered for her honest nature, her lively spirit, and the generous care she gave so freely, especially to the animals she welcomed and protected. She is loved always and forever.
