Ruth Renate White, matriarch, cherished friend, and everyone’s mom, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born in Munster, Germany, on April 2, 1940. In 1963, Ruth’s journey took her across the world to America.
She is preceded in death by her husband Billy White and granddaughter Krista Kovach. She was a proud mother to her three children, Jim (Lisa) Tucker, Carol (Glenn) Bujewski and John (Robin) Tucker. Her heart was further enriched by the presence of her grandchildren, Adam (Melissa), Courtney (Cory), Allison (Nick), Megan, and Mackenzie as well as her great-grandchildren, Madison, Gage, Ryder, Logan, Chase, and Josie. Her family was expanded with the addition of her stepchildren: Nancy Berry, Lynda (David) Vandiver, Karen White, John (Karen) White, Todd (Shari) White, Molly Forte, nine step-grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren.
She is dearly missed by all who knew her, including countless friends between her time in both Missouri and Florida. Ruth will always be remembered for her hard work ethic and fun-loving spirit as well as her love for animals, plants and dancing. She leaves behind her two beloved dogs, Tito and Toby, who will miss her dearly.
The family invites loved ones to join us in honoring Ruthie for a Celebration of Life on Sunday, September 28th from 3-6 PM at the Bujewski residence. This is a place where Ruth’s memory will be celebrated, a fitting tribute to a woman whose life was a testament to love and devotion. A graveside service is to be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Tuesday, September 30th at 10 AM.
Ruth Renate White has left an indelible mark on our hearts, and her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those she loved. In her passing, may we find comfort in the memories we hold dear and the love she shared so freely.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruth's honor may be made to CARE STL Animal Adoption Center.
