Sara Paulina Loza

Sara Paulina Loza, a cherished teacher, devoted mother, loving grandmother, treasured sister, and vibrant soul, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, in Chesterfield, Missouri, with her beloved daughters by her side. Born on January 15, 1947, in La Paz, Bolivia, Sara’s life was marked by a deep commitment to education, family, and the joy of learning.

Throughout her career as a music teacher, Sara was passionate about being around children, sharing with them not just the wonders of music, but also the joy of learning itself. In addition to her work, she took great pride in volunteering her time to help women from rural areas of Bolivia learn to read and write in Spanish, leaving a legacy of empowerment through education that will resonate for generations.

Sara's daughters, Nino (Patrick) Clarkin and Ana Ballon, will forever remember her sweet eyes and the warmth radiating from her lively and loving spirit. Their memories are filled with the melodies of music and laughter she instilled in their home, as well as the lessons she imparted about appreciating diverse cultures and the beauty in the world around them. Her warmth touched everyone she met, earning her the affectionate nickname "sweetie" from many who were graced by her presence.

Driven and resilient, Sara’s positive outlook on life inspired those around her. A warrior with gentle hands, she fought with hope, not sword or shield. She found a way with very little - her love became the richest field. Her innate ability to extend kindness and care to others reflected her belief that everyone deserves respect, dignity, and love. This philosophy was not only an integral part of her life but built the foundation for her enduring legacy.

An entrepreneur and eternal seeker of knowledge, Sara had a thirst for learning that transcended disciplines. Whether it was mastering new dances, exploring art, or striving to be a better teacher, she embraced learning as a lifelong journey. Her curiosity for life and her passion for discovery brought vibrancy to her own experiences and those of her family.

Sara's pride was her daughters, Nino and Ana, and her grandchildren, Cielo and Lukas Clarkin. Her family also extends to her siblings — Alcides, Elsner, Rosario, Betty, Lily, Ena, and Esperanza — along with numerous nieces and nephews who were all touched by her love and wisdom.

Preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Loza and Zara Macedo Loza, and her brother, Walter, Sara leaves behind a legacy of compassion and unwavering support that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who cherished her, and in the lives she influenced through her work and kindness.

As we remember Sara, we celebrate a life beautifully lived, marked by love, strength, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting others. The world is undoubtedly a better place for having had Sara in it, and her spirit will forever dance among us.

A Celebration of Life and Resurrection for Sara will be held on Sunday, November 16, at 2:30 pm at Salem United Methodist Church, 1200 S. Lindbergh Blvd., Ladue, Missouri. Friends are invited to gather afterwards for refreshments and fellowship.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sara's honor may be made to Casa de Salud, or to Manchita's Foundation: Animal Rescuing and Adoption.
