Sharon Kay Hedges, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, in St. Peters, Missouri, surrounded by her cherished loved ones. She was born on March 11, 1943, in Saint Charles, Missouri, where her bright spirit and creativity began to blossom.

Sharon dedicated thirty years of her career to the publishing industry at Data Page, where she left an indelible mark with her commitment and passion for her work. Her academic journey took her to Lindenwood University, where she proudly obtained her Bachelor's Degree, a testament to her love for learning and personal growth.

A woman of many talents and interests, Sharon started playing the piano at a young age. Her musical journey continued as she played for her church over the years, sharing her gift of music with others. Sharon's joyful presence resonated in every note she played, and her dedication to her craft enriched the lives of those around her. In addition to her musical pursuits, she was an active member of the Red Hats and found great joy in crafting, particularly through her enthusiasm for stamping up.

Sharon's heart was filled with love for her family, including her sons, Charles "Chuck" Young and Michael (Gail) Young. She delighted in the laughter and joy brought by her grandchildren, Zachary, Taylor, Brianna, and Tyler, each of whom held a special place in her heart. The love she had extended further to her great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Leon, Jayden, Beau, and Ella. They were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her growing family.

Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Monroe Hedges III, who was her partner and confidant. Her parents, James Thompson and Florence Thompson nee Gutermuth, along with her sisters Martha (Bob) Goetz and Jo Ann (Denny) Freant, also welcomed her into their embrace, where they can rest together in peace.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, the legacy of love, creativity, and warmth that Sharon shared will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. She lived a life full of purpose and devotion, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
