Sharon L. Rudolph, passed away on May 10, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on July 30, 1946.
For fifteen years, Sharon made significant contributions at the Midwest Institute, where she both wrote and taught programs. Her expertise and dedication to her work reflected a deep commitment to fostering learning and development, leaving a lasting legacy within the institution and among her colleagues.
Sharon was a devoted nature enthusiast with a profound love for birds and all animals. This affinity for the natural world was a defining aspect of her life, underscoring her compassionate spirit. Additionally, she was an active participant in exercise classes twice a week for over 40 years. This routine not only sustained her physical well-being but also allowed her to cultivate enduring friendships that brought joy and companionship throughout her life.
Sharon is survived by her husband, James Rudolph; son, Christopher Goodwin, and his wife Amy; step-daughter Christine Palecek; and step-daughter-in-law Christie Rudolph. She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren: Marlee Goodwin, Kingsley Goodwin, Danielle Palecek, Nicole Bortfeld (and her husband Eric), Brooklyn Rudolph, and Brayden Rudolph. Her legacy extends to three great-grandchildren: Layla Lawson, Barrett Bortfeld, and Beckham Bortfeld. Sharon is also survived by her sister Charlene Wickersham and her husband Tom; nephews Nolan Wickersham and Brandon Wickersham (with his wife Melissa); great-nephews Cameron Wickersham (and his wife Anna) and Tyler Wickersham (and his wife Audrey); along with many other family members and friends who treasured her presence.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marion Pancini; mother, Gwendolyn Pancini; step-son Richard Rudolph; granddaughter Skyler Goodwin; and niece Julie Wickersham. Their memories remain a cherished part of her story, honoring the bonds she held dear throughout her life.
Sharon L. Rudolph’s life was one of dedication, warmth, and steadfast friendship. She leaves behind a profound impact on those she touched—whether through her professional endeavors, her love of nature, or her unwavering connections with family and friends. Her memory will be lovingly preserved by all who had the privilege to know her.
