Shawn Michael Miller, born on September 2, 1973, in Springfield, Ohio, passed away on June 11, 2026. Shawn was a man who lived life with a genuine warmth and an open heart. He didn’t know a stranger; wherever he went, he connected effortlessly, often running into familiar faces and maintaining friendships with ease. His welcoming nature made him a beloved figure in his community.

Throughout his career, Shawn excelled as both a sales manager and operations/facilities manager. He didn’t just focus on numbers and processes; he built relationships and preserved company values, making a meaningful impact on the people and places he worked with. But beyond the office, Shawn’s passions were just as rich and varied.

Those who knew Shawn would say he was a champion in many arenas: from the ice rinks where he played hockey to the golf courses where he chased that elusive perfect swing. He could beat you at Golden Tee, out-bowl you, and still have time to savor the complex notes in his meticulously curated bourbon collection. But perhaps his greatest victories were watching his children soar in their own unique talents and activities. Shawn was undeniably their biggest fan. His grandsons, Joey and Jamie brought additional joy to his life. Shawn’s adventurous soul found its happiest moments in travel and diving, immersing himself in the boundless blue and the captivating lives of ocean creatures, especially sharks. The ocean was not just a hobby but a realm of wonder where he found peace, excitement, and inspiration. Shawn shared his love of scuba diving with his children, and they loved when he would pull out his equipment and teach them how to use it in the pool. He was an avid animal lover. Dogs, in particular, seemed to sense his gentle spirit and returned his affection tenfold.

In his downtime, Shawn enjoyed video games nightly, bonding online with friends and racking up virtual wins. And when not competing or cheering, he could be found watching hockey, golf or softball on TV for hours, perfectly content to revel in the sports he loved.

Surviving Shawn is his wife, Cyndi Miller, and their four children: Brittany Ahola, Tyler Miller, Nathan Miller, and Haley Miller. Grandsons Joey and Jamie Schrautemeier can carry on the lively family spirit and maybe join in a future round of Golden Tee or a dive into the deep blue. Shawn's parents, Larry and Debra Miller, and his sister, Shanon Miller, also hold dear his memory. They, along with all who knew him, are left to cherish his countless memories and the impact he had on their lives.

While Shawn’s passing is a profound loss felt deeply by his family and friends, it also brings to light the importance of understanding and awareness about suicide. Shawn’s journey reminds us that even those who seem most connected and vibrant may face unseen struggles. It is a call to stay vigilant, offer support, and cultivate open conversations about mental health, the small acts that can make a life-saving difference.
