Sherry L. Orlando, a gifted and award-winning fine artist whose life was a testament to creativity and grace, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, in O'Fallon, Missouri. Born on February 29, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, Sherry shared her extraordinary artistic talents with the world and lived a life marked by kindness, respectfulness, and an unshakable calm.
Sherry’s artistic journey was deeply intertwined with her membership in the St Charles Artist Guild, where her work was celebrated and admired. Her art was not just a profession but her passion and her voice; through her paints and brushes, she wove stories of beauty and emotion. Her calm and loving spirit was reflected in every stroke, touching the hearts of those who viewed her creations. Beyond the canvas, Sherry loved to travel, especially cherishing trips to Hawaii and other scenic places shared with her beloved husband, Pete.
A respectful and polite woman, Sherry was known for her loving nature and artistic soul. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, balancing her creative pursuits with a profound dedication to family. Her warmth and gentleness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Sherry is mourned by her devoted daughter, Cristie Ryan, and son-in-law, Jeff Ryan, who carries forward their mother’s legacy of love and artistic spirit. She joins the long line of cherished family members who have gone before her—her beloved husband, Pietro Orlando; her parents, Francis and Edna Yadon; and her sister, Nancy Kearny. Though they have passed, their memory and influence remain forever intertwined with Sherry's own remarkable story.
Services to honor Sherry’s life will be held on April 2, 2026, beginning with visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. This will be followed by a funeral service at the same location until 1:30 PM. A graveside service will then take place at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home and Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in St. Ann, Missouri, starting at 2:00 PM.
As we remember Sherry L. Orlando, we celebrate a life rich with creativity, love, and quiet strength. Her art, her spirit, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know her. In her peaceful passing, the world has lost a beautiful soul, but her vibrant spirit will forever illuminate the hearts of her family, friends, and art community.
