Shirley Faye Clark, born on June 17, 1935, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026. Shirley led a life characterized by warmth, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to her family.
Shirley was cherished as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Dennis) Estes and Linda (Jerry) Reffitt, and her grandchildren: John Estes, Jamie Beelek, Billy Barfield, Brooke Barfield, and Duran (Lauren) Estes. Shirley’s legacy extends to seven great-grandchildren who will continue to benefit from the values she imparted during her lifetime.
Also surviving Shirley are her brothers: Billy (Sandra) Worrell, Bruce (Ann) Worrell Jr., and J.W. Worrell. Their enduring sibling bond was a source of connection and strength over the years.
Shirley was preceded in death by her first husband, John Caudell, her second husband, James Clark, parents, Bruce and Lucettia Worrell; her daughter, Angela Barfield; her son, Gene Caudell; grandchild, John Estes; her sister, Joyce Smith; her brother, Kenneth Worrell; Each played an important role in Shirley's journey and now rest in cherished memory.
A defining quality of Shirley was her kind, bubbly, and loving nature. Known for her quick smile, she created an open and inviting atmosphere wherever she went, always seeking to make others feel welcomed and at ease. Her compassion extended not only to her family and friends but also to animals—Shirley had a profound affection for her puppies and kitty cats, caring for them with the same warmth she gave those around her.
Among her proudest accomplishments, Shirley placed the highest importance on being a grandmother. The love she gave to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was her greatest joy and stands as a testament to her character and the lasting impact she leaves.
Family and friends are invited to honor Shirley’s life at Newcomer Funeral Home, St. Peters, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr, St Peters, MO 63376. Visitation will be held on July 31, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m.
