Shirley Ida Greener, born on April 25, 1931, passed away on October 26, 2025. Her remarkable life was defined by a vibrant career, a plethora of talents, and an unwavering spirit that touched all who knew her.

Shirley was a top agent in the field of Real Estate at Gundaker Realty throughout the 1980s, where her dedication and professionalism set her apart in a competitive industry. Prior to that, she showcased her flair for style and design as a Fashion Consultant during her residence in Chicago. Her keen eye for aesthetics extended beyond her career; she was also a highly skilled seamstress, creating her own clothing and various household items with exceptional artistry and care. Shirley's passion for homemaking transformed her home into a warm and inviting haven, reflecting both her personality and her many talents.

Described as spunky and independent, Shirley was a self-taught individual who embraced learning new skills with enthusiasm. Her zest for life was evident in every endeavor she pursued, leaving an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her greatest pride in life was being a mother to her wonderful children and supporting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid Major League Baseball fan! She was always cheering on her favorite team - The Chicago Cubs!

Shirley is survived by her children, Cindy Stark; Kent Greener; Rich Greener; and Robb Greener. She cherished her five grandchildren: Kelly (Christopher) Taylor, Greg Stark, Kent Greener, Jr., Kyle Greener, and Autumn Greener; as well as a great-granddaughter, Kynlei Greener. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by a host of other family members and friends who will carry her memory forward.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Greener of whom she shared 69 wonderful years of marriage; her mother, Eleanor M. Smith; and her father, Clarence L. Smith. Shirley's legacy of love, creativity, and independence will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
