Silver Ingram

Silver Ingram, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on February 24, 2026, in St. Charles, Missouri, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 1, 1934, in McLeansboro, Illinois, Silver lived a life full of service, dedication, and joy.

A proud veteran, Silver served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, a testament to his commitment and patriotism. Following his military service, he embarked on an impressive career as a supervisor at McDonnell Douglas, where he dedicated over 35 years before retiring. However, retirement did not slow him down; his passion for work led him to own a TV repair shop and work at bowling alleys, ensuring that he always had his hands full and his heart engaged.

Silver's love for life extended beyond work. He was known for his ornery spirit—a light-hearted quality that brought laughter and warmth to any gathering. His family often marveled at how he could be a jovial troublemaker while also being an unwavering support system. Wherever life took him, Silver was never unavailable to lend a helping hand to family and friends, embodying a true spirit of generosity and kindness.

Perhaps one of Silver's greatest joys was his time spent with his grandchildren. He took them with him wherever he went, cherishing every moment with his family, and creating memories that would last a lifetime. His legacy of love is reflected in the lives of his fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, who carry forward his affection, humor, and zest for life.

A man of many passions, Silver was an ardent bowling enthusiast—his family lovingly described him as a bowling 'fanatic.' His commitment to the sport was remarkable, achieving the rare feat of scoring a perfect 300 roughly 500 times throughout his bowling career. This dedication was emblematic of his character: when he set his mind to something, he pursued it with vigor and determination.

Silver was also proud of his affiliations with the community, being a dedicated Shriner and a 33rd degree Mason in the Scottish Rite. These organizations held a special place in his heart, illustrating his commitment not just to personal success, but to the betterment of those around him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Charlene Patterson; daughters Brenda (Pat) Fogarty, Vickie (Marty) Bragg, Diana (the late Kevin) Brennan, Lisa Kulp, Debbie Ingram, Kimm Evans, and Rhonda Ingram; as well as his grandchildren Dan Kulp III, Justin Kulp, Robert Evans II, Clarissa Evans, Hannah Evans, Jake Evans, Vinny Evans, Keri Hickman, Kevin Brennan, Jr., Jamie Brennan, Daphne Schreck, Kelly Conley, Brad Davis, Kaylie Becerril, Kimberly Davis, William Johnson, Nya Johnson, Sarah Crites, and Nikki DeLeon. His memory is lovingly cherished also by his many treasured great-grandchildren.

Silver is predeceased by his parents, John and Wilma Ingram, his sister Doris Ingram, his daughter Patricia Davis, and his granddaughter Melanie Quinton, all of whom welcome him back into their loving embrace.

As we remember Silver Ingram, we celebrate a man whose spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy of love, service, and laughter will remain a guiding light—a reminder of the importance of family, friendship, and always lending a helping hand.

Silver will be laid to rest in Jefferson Barracks.
