Steven Joseph McBride, a cherished son, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully in his home in Wentzville, Missouri on August 15, 2025, just shy of his 62nd birthday. Born on September 10, 1963, in St. Louis, Missouri, Steven’s life was a beautiful testament to love, kindness, and heartfelt connections.
A man of many talents and passions, Steven joyfully embraced life’s simple pleasures. He had a profound love for music, often remarking that it was the love of his life. His evenings were delightfully spent immersed in cerebral documentaries, while he also found solace and creativity in crafting, particularly as a specialist in origami. He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds and could be found watching or talking sports, even if his team was losing. Steven's friendly and welcoming personality drew people toward him effortlessly; he possessed an intelligence that sparkled through his sense of humor, making him a pleasure to be around.
Steven’s greatest pride came from his accomplishments in life, especially partnering to run a grocery store with his business partners. It was in this role that Steven thrived, building meaningful relationships with his customers and creating a warm atmosphere that reflected his generous spirit. He dedicated himself to ensuring that everyone who walked through his doors felt welcomed, mirroring the love he poured into his family life.
His family meant the world to him; Steven adored his nieces and nephews with all of his heart. Though he had no children of his own, he loved each of them deeply, always making time for family get-togethers filled with laughter and joy. He was known as the sweetest and kindest man by all who knew him, displaying an unyielding care and warmth towards his parents, Lynn and Linda McBride, his siblings Kristine Foust, Timothy (Sheryl) McBride, Gary (Christine) McBride, and Matthew McBride. The bonds he built with them were unwavering, and his absence will surely be felt in every gathering they share going forward.
The family plans to honor Steven’s memory with a Celebration of Life service, taking place at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri, on September 6, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
