Steven (Steve) Edward Baruzzini, born on March 26, 1953, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Clayton, Missouri, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with ALS. While our hearts are deeply grieved by his passing, we take profound comfort and joy in knowing that Steve is whole again, walking in glory, and resting peacefully in the eternal presence of Jesus.
Steve lived a life defined by warmth, kindness, and an unshakeable love for his family. He was a steady, supportive presence and a true gift to everyone blessed to know him. Though his fight with ALS presented great trials, his spirit remained gentle, resilient, and anchored in his faith.
He leaves behind a cherished legacy of love. Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Kelley Baruzzini; his children, Stacy Helm, Ryan (Lisa) Helm, Shannon (Tobi) Gardner, and Jessica; his eight adored grandchildren, who brought endless joy to his heart; as well as his loving siblings, Gail (Tony) Garey and Louis "Barry" (Debra) Baruzzini, along with six dear nieces and nephews whom he loved deeply.
Steve was reunited in Heaven with his parents, Louis and Dorris Baruzzini, and his brother, James "Jim" Baruzzini, who preceded him in death.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Steve’s life and the hope we have in Christ will be held on Wednesday, October 7th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Newcomer, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr., with a memorial service immediately following at 2:00 PM.
Though we will miss his laugh, his warm smile, and his steady love every single day, we rejoice in the assurance that this is not goodbye, but simply until we meet again.
In lieu of flowers if you prefer, the family kindly requests you consider a donation in Steve's honor to either the Messiah Lutheran Church of St Charles by clicking here or the ALS society by clicking the link below.
