Theresa Mary Nesler, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on January 26, 1951, Theresa lived a life filled with love, family, and devotion to God.
Theresa was a nurturing presence in the lives of her family and friends. She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Nesler and Theresa (Gary) Ball; her son, Matthew Nesler; and her nine cherished grandchildren, Daniel (Cassandra), Ryan (Samantha), Katelyn, Alex, Michael, Kenneth, Brian (Shauna), Brittne’Lee, and Xena. In addition to her immediate family, she also leaves behind her sister, Kathleen White; her brother-in-law, Ted Douglas; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father, Matthew Hughes; her mother, Mary Hughes (nee Borowski); her husband, Frank Nesler, Sr.; her son, Frank Nesler, Jr.; and her sisters, Patricia Douglas, Eileen (Charles) Walkenhorst, and Peggy Hughes. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and their memories will continue to resonate within the lives of those who loved her.
Theresa had a passion for life that was reflected in her love for travel and spending meaningful time with her family. She cherished the moments spent with loved ones and nurtured a lasting bond with her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges and aiming to instill the same values in the generations she cherished.
A visitation will be held on July 24, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, located at 7 McMenamy Road, St. Peters, MO. This will be followed by a Mass from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, where family and friends can gather to celebrate her life and the impact she had on all who knew her. Later that day, Theresa will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO, starting at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are welcome to gather afterwards at Mary's house in St. Peters for a luncheon.
