Thomas Lanny Gipson Jr.

Thomas Lanny Gipson, Jr., age 78, of Creve Coeur, Missouri passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023. He was born in St. Louis City, Missouri on October 13, 1944 to Thomas and Geraldine Gipson (nee Dazey).

Thomas is survived by his two brothers, Philip DeWitt (Pam) Gipson, Christopher Gipson; four sisters, Mary (Tom) Logan, Margaret Madden, Marie Allen (Robert Geekie), and Martha Gipson (Steve Vatterott); along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Tom attended Our Lady of the Pillar School, Chaminade Preparatory, and Horton Watkins High School.

Growing up, Tom excelled academically and enjoyed cars and motorcycles. He built a HAM radio receiver and was in the Radio Club at school. He also played football in grade school and also built a model airplane. He was in the Boy Scouts.

As a young adult, Tom moved to California. He spent most of his adult years in the western United States before moving back to the St. Louis area in 2023.

Tom was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Lanny Gipson, Sr. and mother, Geraldine Gipson.

Visitation will be from 9 am until 11 am on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation at the same location with Rev. Gina Brinkmann officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Our Lady Cemetery, 8701 Orf Road, Lake St. Louis, Missouri.

After the burial, all are invited to attend a luncheon at Church of the Shepherd, 1601 Woodstone Drive, St. Peters, Missouri.
