Thomas Edward Watkins, Sr., affectionately known as Tom, left this world on May 5, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 22, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, and lived a life celebrated for its warmth, kindness, and devotion to those he cherished.

Tom was a man who could light up a room with his fun-loving spirit and goofy sense of humor. He possessed an innate ability to forge connections, never meeting a stranger, and making friends wherever he went. His heart was as expansive as his garden, a passion that saw him spend countless hours working in his yard, planting flowers, and nurturing vegetables. Whether cutting the grass or tending to new blooms, Tom found joy in every part of his beloved outdoor oasis.

He served honorably in the United States Army as a Sergeant, dedicating two years overseas where he earned the National Defense Service Medal and his M16 Marksman qualification—a testament to his commitment to service and his country. Tom's pride in his military accomplishments was rivaled only by the love he had for his family, which he considered his greatest achievement.

Tom vividly cherished memories of dock diving with his wife, Dawn, and their Yellow Lab, Midas. Adventures taken with Midas to the Gulf of America were treasured moments that he often recalled with a smile. His passion for life extended beyond those simple pleasures; it was imbued in his relationships with his sons, Thomas and Jeremy (Carrie), with whom he shared laughter and lessons, and all the joy brought by his granddaughter Madison (Logan) Fitzgerald and his great-grandsons Clayton and Drew Fitzgerald.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Watkins, his beloved sons, Thomas Watkins and Jeremy (Carrie) Watkins, his granddaughter, Madison (Logan) Fitzgerald, his great-grandsons, Clayton and Drew Fitzgerald, and his brother William (Marjorie) Watkins. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Roland and Rosemary Watkins, and his brother, John Watkins.

Tom will be deeply missed by his family, who will carry forward his legacy of love, laughter, and an unwavering zest for life. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all those fortunate enough to have known him.
