Timothy Michael Patrick Mooney, born July 26, 1955, passed away on May 31, 2026. Timothy was a remarkable man whose life was defined by his unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and passions.
Tim’s love for antique car shows was well-known among his circle of friends. He cherished the camaraderie and nostalgia that these events brought, often sharing stories and laughter while admiring classic automobiles. Beyond this, he had a deep enthusiasm for drag racing, a thrilling pastime that reflected his adventurous spirit. He also took great joy in cars and motorcycles, hobbies that fueled his appreciation for craftsmanship and speed.
A devoted gun collector, Tim approached his interests with the same respect and diligence that characterized every aspect of his life. Known for his patient and nonjudgmental nature, he was a man who never met a stranger, always treating everyone with kindness and respect. Tim’s generosity knew no bounds; he would readily lend a helping hand to anyone in need, even if it meant grumbling quietly beforehand. His steadfast character and integrity earned him a reputation as a stand-up guy among all who knew him.
Tim was also an animal lover, sharing a gentle bond with creatures great and small. His kindness extended beyond humans, reflecting a compassionate heart that embraced all life. Above all, Tim was a great partner, father, grandpa, and friend—a pillar of strength and warmth within his family and community.
Timothy is survived by his lifelong girlfriend, Tammy Litzinger; his beloved daughter, Amy Renee (Zurich) Buckner; his sister, Dorothy Zavala; many cherished grandchildren; as well as other family members and friends who will remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Mooney; father, Charles Mooney, Sr.; three brothers, Dennis (Amanda) Torres, Charles Mooney, Jr., and Kerry “Pappy” Mooney; and sister, Laura (Terry) Sorrell.
Timothy’s enduring legacy is one of hard work, loyalty, and compassion. His patience and open heart touched countless lives, leaving behind memories that will be treasured by those who had the privilege to know him. As we reflect on his life, we honor a man who lived with purpose and loved deeply. He will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.
