Vickie Lee Miller, born on February 7, 1958, in Pekin, Illinois, passed away on January 13, 2026, in O'Fallon, Missouri, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion that touched the lives of many. Vickie was a remarkable child care nurse at Rankin Jordan Hospital before embarking on a fulfilling career as a hospice nurse. Her dedication to caring for others exemplified her nurturing spirit and unwavering commitment to those in need.
A graduate of Nursing School, Vickie embraced her profession with a grace that endeared her to patients and colleagues alike. She dedicated her life to the care of others, demonstrating a selflessness that was evident not only in her work but also in her personal life. Her love for helping people was matched only by her affection for animals, which brought her immense joy.
Vickie's vibrant personality shone brightly in all aspects of her life. She enjoyed arts and crafts, finding joy in creating beautiful things and celebrating even the smallest holiday with festive decorations. This love for creativity was a reflection of her generous spirit, always wanting to spread cheer to those around her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Jim Miller, and their three cherished children: Ryan, Jess, and Jamie Miller. Vickie took immense pride in her role as a mother and grandmother, finding happiness in her grandchildren, Alex, Brayden, and Amexis Miller, who were the light of her life. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Pam Hayes, who shared countless memories with her.
Vickie's heartache over the passing of her parents, James Stearns and Margaret Stearns nee Johnson, and her sister, Debbie Stauthammer, remained a testament to the deep connections she forged throughout her life. She also treasured her friendship with Sean Glanville, whose companionship brought her joy.
Family and friends will gather to honor Vickie's memory during visitation on January 20, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. The love Vickie shared with those around her will continue to inspire many, and her spirit will live on in the hearts she touched throughout her life.
