Victoria “Vicky” Coombs (née Stephens), of Chesterfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at the age of 80.
Vicky was born on August 15, 1945, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. She later made her home in Missouri, where she built a life with husband James “Jim” Coombs.
Vicky worked as a dedicated bus driver for the Special School District of St. Louis County. She took great pride in safely transporting and caring for the students she served each day. She retired in 2017 after many years of devoted service.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen Coombs and his wife Michele, and Michael Coombs; her brothers, Peter Stephens and his wife Claudia, and Bernard Stephens and his wife Ann Louise; her cherished grandchildren, James, Jessica, Brian, and Torrie; her great-granddaughter Gladys; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James H. Coombs; her son, James “Jimmy” Coombs; her granddaughter Michaela Coombs; her sister, Roz Pohlmann; and her brothers, Nelson Stephens and Francis Stephens.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Vicky’s honor on March 22, 2026, from 2-5pm at the Vineyards Clubhouse, located at 756 Napa Lane, St. Charles, Missouri 63304. Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories and celebrate the life of a woman who meant so much to so many.
