Virginia A. Fitzsimmons, affectionately known as "Pete," passed away on December 24, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on April 14, 1941, Virginia was a remarkable individual, embodying strength and determination. She lived life on her own terms, a trait that defined her character and endeared her to those who knew her.
Virginia grew up in a large family, surrounded by several brothers and sisters, which instilled in her a profound sense of responsibility and dedication. As a great provider, she was diligent in caring for her family, particularly her children, and she always managed to get her way, no matter the circumstances. Her strong will was matched only by her unwavering love for her family.
An avid reader, Virginia had a passion for literature that remained a constant throughout her life. She could often be found with a book in hand, diving into new worlds and acquiring an impressive wealth of knowledge. Her enthusiasm for trivia and her keen intellect made her not only a captivating conversationalist but also a cherished friend among many.
Virginia is survived by her beloved life long partner, George Fitzsimmons; son, Sean Fitzsimmons; her devoted daughter, Laura Kelly Brown; and three grandchildren, Alexis Katherine Anne Fitzsimmons, Laura Brown, and Thomas Brown. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of other family members and friends who will remember her fondly.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Stewart, and her mother, Velma Stewart. Virginia A. Fitzsimmons will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, her love for reading, and her unwavering commitment to her family.
