Virginia Ann Mason (née Perkins) passed away on February 3, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on May 28, 1937, in New Rochelle, New York, Virginia lived a life marked by devotion to family, career, and community.
Throughout her career, Virginia made significant contributions as an Airline Cargo Accounting professional at Ozark, TWA, and American Airlines, where she dedicated herself until her retirement. Known for her soft-spoken demeanor and prim and proper nature, she embodied sweetness, gentleness, and kindness. Virginia was self-reliant and independent, traits that endeared her to many.
She enjoyed traveling and spending time walking the beaches she would visit. In her retirement, Virginia was devoted to nurturing her interests and maintaining a structured routine. She loved to walk the mall every day and enjoyed spending time within her church community, where she volunteered her efforts in Bible studies and various other projects.
Virginia took immense pride in her role as a mother and grandmother, cherishing her large family. She loved to have get-togethers with her family and would always be willing to bring the family favorite recipe of the her famous potato salad. In her younger years, she found great joy in cooking and was highly skilled in the kitchen, often preparing meals that brought her family together.
Virginia is survived by her children, Lianne Montgomery, Kim (Greg) Eitzmann, and James (Pam) Perkins; six grandchildren, Nicole (Rob) Blankenship, Casey (Steve) Kelley, Bryan (Cindy) Montgomery, Matthew (Taylor) Montgomery, Mishelle (Devon) Pucel, and Alexander (Amanda) Perkins; twenty-two great-grandchildren, Schylar, Kaelyn (Alex), Colton, Logan, Laela, Elynn, Layton, Olivia, Nora, Theo, Declan, Dawson, Devin, Dassia, Andrew, Kasey, Matt, Jr., Mattie, Mason, Olivia, and Ava, Jayelyn; four great-great-grandchildren, Ronan, Lincoln, Walker, and Cordelia; along with a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Alfred Mason; first husband, Darrell Lee Perkins; father, George Alexander Brokaw; mother, Mary Jane Brokaw; and grandchild, David Montgomery. Virginia Ann Mason will be remembered for her love, kindness, and the warmth she shared with all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A private interment will take place at a later date.
