Virginia L. Staples, 83, passed away on October 21, 2026. Born on April 6, 1943, Virginia was a loving and caring woman whose spirited nature, warmth, and unmistakable feisty streak left a lasting impression on those who knew her.
Virginia was deeply involved in the lives of her children while they were growing up, taking an active role in their schooling and participating in the PTA. She was known as a social butterfly who never met a stranger, and she brought energy and kindness wherever she went. She enjoyed sewing, music, dancing, and attending concerts. She also loved watching cooking shows and spending time baking. Virginia was a devoted Cardinals fan and especially enjoyed attending games with her family when they were able to go together. She also looked forward to weekly field trips with her girlfriends, treasuring those outings and the friendships that made them so special.
She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Seger and her fiance, Mark Tognarelli, and Karen Weeke and her husband, Scott. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Jessica Seger and Braedyn Weeke. Virginia is further survived by her sister, Shirley Siebuhr, widow of Thomas Siebuhr; her nephew, Lonnie Siebuhr and his wife, Cheryl; her great-niece and great-nephew, Rachel and Zachary; and many other family members and friends who will remember her with affection.
Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband, Max Hoffman; her husband, Hank Staples; her son, William Clark; her mother, Frieda Clark; and her father, Curtis Clark.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on October 29, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home, St. Peters, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr, St Peters, MO 63376. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider making a donation in Virginia's name to BJC Evelyn's House or Siteman Cancer Center Research.
Virginia will be remembered for her caring heart, her lively personality, strong will; and the joy she found in family, friendship, and simple pleasures. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
