W. Allen Clark, passed away on June 4, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on March 30, 1942, Allen's life was marked by commitment, intellect, and a vibrant personality that left an indelible impression on all who knew him.
Allen attended Horton Watkins High School before pursuing higher education at Tulane University and subsequently Washington University, where he cultivated a lifelong skillset for business and interpersonal relationships. His remarkable intellect and lexiphilic tendencies, a delight in words, coupled with a sharp wit, made him a captivating presence and a frequent source of laughter. His innate ability to uplift any gathering underscored a warm sense of humor that accompanied his brilliant mind.
Allen served honorably in the United States Army, exemplifying his deep sense of patriotism and devotion to his country. He built a career in outside sales starting here in Saint Louis with Brown Shoe Company. His strong work ethic and dedication to excellence were highly regarded, being recognized through multiple awards and accolades. Throughout his professional journey, he maintained a commitment to integrity and purpose.
Allen's personal interests reflected his rich and purposeful life. An avid golfer and gardener, he found joy in the outdoors and the tranquility of nature. His dedication to his family was paramount; he lived his life with intention and a profound sense of love and responsibility toward those closest to him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Judith Clark; daughters Torrey Park and Jennifer Pecher (and her husband John); as well as his sister Patricia Ball (and her husband Eldon). Allen also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his father, Willard Howard Clark, and his mother, Inez Bethune Clark.
Allen Clark’s legacy is defined by his unwavering dedication to family and country, his intellectual curiosity, and the joy he brought to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit endures in the memories of those who were privileged to share in his life.
