Wayne Herbert Hutson, U.S. Army (1957-1965), beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, neighbor and friend, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in his home surrounded by family and friends. Wayne was born on February 5, 1940, in Saint Louis, Missouri, to Herbert and Bernice Hutson.
Wayne will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and the lasting impact he had on the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was a man of many hobbies, he loved playing sports, cars, going to car shows, firetrucks, telling stories, reading books, and watching movies. Wayne was a man of many experiences, many tales, and someone who never met a stranger.
Throughout his life, Wayne valued family, friendship, and hard work. He shared his wisdom generously and brought comfort, laughter, and love to those around him. His memory will continue to live on through the stories, traditions, and moments cherished by his family and friends.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Hutson (nee Lucks); his eight children, Ann Barton (nee Hutson), Wayne Jr. Hutson (Lisa), Tammy Loyal (nee Hutson) (Brian), Paul Hutson, Jason Koessel (Holly), Ryan Koessel (Sara), Jacquelyn Gibbs (nee Koessel) (Trevor), and Anthony Koessel (Jessie); his 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and his two sisters, Diane Williams (nee Hutson) and Karen (nee Hutson) (Don) Clerc.
Visitation will take place on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:00 am at the same location, followed by burial at Saint Ferdinand Cemetery, located at 698 Manion Park Drive #600, Florissant, Missouri 63031.
The family asks that Wayne be remembered not for the way his life ended, but for the way he lived and the difference he made in the lives of others. As he would say, “to make a long story short” let’s celebrate the wonderful life I made with family, neighbors, and friends.
