William “Ed” Holschen passed away on October 5, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on November 29, 1929, he lived a long life marked by faith, family, and devotion.
Ed built his career as a mechanical draftsman, working at Emerson Electric and McDonnell-Douglas. He also owned and operated a ceramics business with his wife, Yvonne, reflecting the partnership they shared in both life and work. Those who knew him also knew the importance of his faith. He was a longtime member of Cross Keys Baptist Church, was devout in his beliefs, and was a Freemason. Music was also part of his life, and he sang tenor in a gospel quartet known as the Commanders.
Family was at the heart of Ed’s life. He is survived by his children, William (Mary) Holschen Jr, and Lisa (Charles) Haas. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Jacob (Jackie) Holschen, Samantha (Josh) Ard, Philip (Kristie) Haas, and Kristen (Jeremiah) Pearson, as well as his great-grandchildren, Jack Holschen, Tess Holschen, Dylan Ard, Fitzpatrick Haas, Oliver Haas, Corban Haas, and Sophia Pearson. He is also survived by his brother, David Holschen, along with many other family members and friends who will remember him with love.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Holschen, as well as by his father, Fred Holschen, and his mother, Goldie Irene Holschen.
Ed will be remembered as a man of deep faith, strong family commitment, and lasting warmth. His life touched many through his work, his church, his music, and the love he gave to those closest to him.
