William G. "Bill" Lauman

August 22, 1942 — August 9, 2025

William G. Lauman, affectionately known to those close to him as Bill (Butch), passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Lake St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on August 22, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, where he began a journey that would see him impact countless lives.

Bill dedicated much of his career to being a Truck Driver, a profession he truly loved. With a remarkable record of one million accident-free miles, he proudly drove for Preston Trucking, Hautly Cheese, and Shippers Dispatch. His life was defined by the open road, the thrill of adventure, and the joy of delivering goods across the nation.

His personality was fun-loving with an infectious spirit. Bill was fiercely protective of his family and cherished every moment spent with them. Memories of hunting trips to Bull Shoals Lake in Missouri, with his kids, and fishing excursions, including one to Canada, with his hunting buddies, stand out as cherished chapters of his life. He was as wild in his younger years as he was loving, and his family will forever remember the warmth of his laughter.

Bill’s proudest accomplishment, outside of his beloved family, was becoming a member of the Teamsters Local 600, a testament to his hard work and dedication throughout his driving career. His legacy is not only in the miles he drove but in the love he spread to those around him.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Darlene Toth Lauman; his daughter with his late wife Mary, Catherine (Dennis) May; his dear aunt, Jean Lauman; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Their hearts are forever touched by the vibrant and loving spirit that was Bill.

He joins in eternal rest his son with his wife Darlene, Keith Lauman; his late wife, Mary F. Lauman née Church; his parents, William and Mary Lauman; and his siblings, David Lauman and Carol Ann Ogden. While they may be separated by time, his family remembers him fondly and takes comfort in the countless memories they shared.

The remembrance of William G. Lauman will be celebrated in a visitation and memorial service at Newcomer Funeral Home in Chesterfield, Missouri, on August 27, 2025. Family and friends are invited to gather as they honor both the remarkable life he lived and the love he so freely shared.

Though he may have departed from this world, Bill's spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the bonds of family that will endure a lifetime.

A private graveside service will take place at a later date.
