William Jess Swiney

William Jess Swiney passed away peacefully at his home in O'Fallon, MO on September 28, 2025 surrounded by family. He leaves his wife of 71 years, Helen, and four children , Karen Robinson (David), Robert Swiney (Amy), Janet Foster (Roy), David Swiney (Kate) along with eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Jess grew up on a farm before moving to Shelbyville, Illinois where he went to high school. He joined the Navy after graduation, serving three years during World War II. He returned home and attended Millikin University where he earned his degree and met Helen.

Jess was a natural salesman and spent most of his career in the medical supply business until his retirement in 1991. Jess and Helen were active members of Dardenne Presbyterian Church, where Jess served as a Minuteman and Deacon. He loved traveling in their motorhome, trips to Europe and time at their house on Table Rock Lake, but mostly he loved his family and was happiest when he was with them.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 on December 8, 2025 at Dardenne Presbyterian Church in O'Fallon, MO.

Memorial gifts may be made to Dardenne Presbyterian Church or the Hope Food Pantry.
