Yonglin Xu

Yonglin Xu passed away on October 18, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on January 4, 1950, he lived a life marked by creativity, energy, and a deep appreciation for both craftsmanship and beauty.

Yonglin worked as a mechanical engineer, a profession well suited to his inventive mind and careful skill. He especially enjoyed designing parts, bringing both precision and imagination to his work. Those who knew him recognized in him a very creative spirit, someone who approached life with curiosity and talent. He was also remembered as a fantastic role model, setting an example through the way he carried himself and pursued the things he loved.

Outside of his career, Yonglin embraced life with enthusiasm. He was very athletic and found joy in many activities, including playing tennis and swimming. He also had a love for motorcycles and cars, interests that reflected both his adventurous side and his appreciation for design and performance. He enjoyed cooking, ballroom dancing, and art, and he was regarded as a great artist. In every part of his life, he brought energy, discipline, and a distinctive creative touch.

Above all, Yonglin will be remembered by those closest to him. He is survived by his wife, Lifang Shan; his daughter, June Shoo; his granddaughter, Julie Hofer; his brothers, Yongfu Xu and Jun Yan; and his sisters, Bin Yan and Wei Yan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jie Yan. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate to know him.

Yonglin Xu will be remembered with love and respect for the life he lived, the example he set, and the many gifts he shared with others.
