Zelma Leone McDaniel (nee: Baxter), a beloved member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, in Wentzville, Missouri, at the age of 98. Born on August 4, 1927, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, she lived a life rich with love, faith, and service.
Zelma was a devoted Christian who dedicated herself to teaching and sharing her beliefs. She studied Bible teaching at Memphis School of Preaching alongside her late husband, Albert McDaniel. For 69 years, she was his partner in life and ministry, supporting him as he preached and fostering the spiritual growth of countless individuals within the congregation at Church of Christ in House Springs, Missouri. Over the years, she taught many Bible Study classes and was a featured speaker at Ladies' Day programs across several states, including Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.
Zelma is survived by her loving daughter, Deborah Crawford; son, Russell McDaniel; grandchildren, Kelly Crawford, Preston McDaniel, and Tamara McDaniel; great-grandchildren, Julianne, Braydon, and Ethan; and numerous nieces and nephews. She joins her cherished husband, Albert, as well as her beloved granddaughter Christy Crawford, grandson Kyle Crawford, her mother, father, brothers and sisters in eternal rest.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Zelma's remarkable life during a visitation on September 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 5:00 PM. A memorial gathering will take place afterwards from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, all held at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri.
Zelma Leone McDaniel will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her dedication to her family, and her warm spirit that touched the lives of many. Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those she inspired and loved.
